We are looking for family members who would like to share their talents during our Family Program.
Do you have a special talent
That you would like to bring
To our family reunion?
Just any little thing.
Do you sing or write or act?
Do you whittle? Do you dance?
Now is the time to take the stage,
Step up and take this chance.
Perhaps you have a poem or two
That will entertain us folks.
Show us some homemade articles,
Or tell some good, clean jokes.
No one will be slighted.
E-mail or give us a call*,
And you will be invited.
There’s a slot for one and all.
*Email james.fairbanksATutah.edu or call him at 801-884-9983 to sign up.
Or you can send or bring photos of your talents.Knitting, sewing, gardening, dancing, sports, cake decorating, bowling, scrapbooking, parachuting
. . . the sky's the limit!

During the Gathering time, and from 12:00-1:00, those families who desire may have a digital photo taken in front of the Fairbanks House next door to the Social Hall. It is hoped that by making these available for everyone via the website, that faces will become more familiar and we will feel more comfortable saying "Hello" at the next reunion!

We are going to print out wall-size family trees to display at the reunion as we did last year. But to add a fun twist, we'd like to add head shots of as many people as possible to their names. Look on the family tree at this website (you have to register and be approved to view living individuals on our online tree). Everyone on this tree will be included in the printed charts. If you aren't shown, be sure to send in your GEDCOM or typed info (names, dates and places of birth, marriage, death) in an email to the webmaster of this website. Send close-up photos (head shots) as well, being sure to label who is who.
We are slowly gathering family information, so don't be left out!.
Deadline July 10, 2007 to get your genealogy and photos on the printed tree.

After the reunion, plan on staying the rest of the day visiting Old Deseret Village. Be sure to visit the John Boylston Fairbanks home right next door to the Social Hall. This Is The Place Heritage Park is to journey back in time to discover life in 19th century Utah. The Park is an example of a typical pioneer community found throughout Utah during the mid-1800s. Here you will do much more than just learn about history, you will taste it, smell it, touch it, hear it and walk through it. As you explore more than 40 carefully restored homes and buildings, history will come alive as interpreters and artisans in period dress help you discover how pioneers lived, worked and played.
Visit the ZCMI store, with items seldom seen in this century, and many items available nowhere else.
Mormon Handicraft, right outside the park entrance, has fabric, notions, quilt books, stitchery patterns, kits, Lion House Pantry, and homemade gifts.
Plus, if you're from out of town, here are some other places to visit while in Salt Lake City.
